God’s Plan for our Creation: Day 6 - 06-11-2019

Link to Lesson on YouTube: https://youtu.be/Wv0ii0lywaY

Tonight isn’t just about the creation of man. In one way, that is the seminal event of Day 6, but in our study of Genesis chapter 1 through the use of metonymy, we learn much more about who we are. This is essential knowledge in an age of post-truth. Truth is in fact relevant, and responsibility with the truth of who we are is critical.

Tonight we will look at God’s plan that has been building from before we are saved, and what happens to us on Day 6. We will learn that who we were made to be is the foundation of self identity. While El Elohim gives us the dignity of choice, we must understand that our choices have consequences. Twice our Heavenly Father gives us a command to be responsible with our thoughts and actions. In other words, we are not to seek out autonomy - or self law - or designating ourselves as gods. When we do this, the consequences are described through the fall of Lucifer. However, when we understand that we are children of God, and seek out that identity with all of our hearts, we are rewarded with a direct relationship through Jesus Christ with our Heavenly Father.

Our path to Re-Creation - Day 6

God Preparing Us

Understanding Our Reality:

  • When God re-creates us, He is molding us into His likeness and the image of Himself.

  • As He does this He is working on our heart.

  • And with our newly created Godlike heart He wants us to see the world the way He does

The Heart - in Hebrew

It is the organ, but in the way we refer to our “mind” not our brain

Our “heart” contains the 3-parts that also make up your soul:

  • Intellectual life or thought (mind)

  • Desires of your heart, and choices made based on these (will)

  • Emotional life or feelings (emotion)

Jesus refers to this in Matthew 22:37-40 when He talks about seeking God with all our heart.

In the message, “with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.”

Scripture for Day 6

Genesis 1:1-31 (MSG)

Genesis 1:24-31 (MSG)

24-25 God spoke: “Earth, generate life! Every sort and kind:

cattle and reptiles and wild animals—all kinds.”

And there it was:

wild animals of every kind,

Cattle of all kinds, every sort of reptile and bug.

God saw that it was good.

26-28 God spoke: “Let us make human beings in our image, make them

reflecting our nature

So they can be responsible for the fish in the sea,

the birds in the air, the cattle,

And, yes, Earth itself,

and every animal that moves on the face of Earth.”

God created human beings;

he created them godlike,

Reflecting God’s nature.

He created them male and female.

God blessed them:

“Prosper! Reproduce! Fill Earth! Take charge!

Be responsible for fish in the sea and birds in the air,

for every living thing that moves on the face of Earth.”

29-30 Then God said, “I’ve given you

every sort of seed-bearing plant on Earth

And every kind of fruit-bearing tree,

given them to you for food.

To all animals and all birds,

everything that moves and breathes,

I give whatever grows out of the ground for food.”

And there it was.

31 God looked over everything he had made;

it was so good, so very good!

It was evening, it was morning—

Day Six.

Quick Review

How We’ve Developed So Far:

  • We’ve received salvation through Jesus - Day 1

  • We’ve come to see God above us - Day 2

And remember, Heavens and Godly things are up

  • God separates the things in our life, the waters and the land - Day 3

God is pulling the things we’ve put into ourselves through foolishness out

This is a part of what the Bible refers to as “pruning”

  • God BEGINS to grow things in us - Day 3

He does this, persisting things by His will, not ours

  • God creates the Lights of the Heavens, the sun and moon - Day 4

This Light is the Truth of God revealed to us

God creates the land animals:

Genesis 1:24-31 The Message (MSG)

24-25 God spoke: “Earth, generate life! Every sort and kind:

cattle and reptiles and wild animals—all kinds.”

And there it was:

wild animals of every kind,

Cattle of all kinds, every sort of reptile and bug.

God saw that it was good.

In one sense this is a literal description of what God did.

In this study we are applying metonymy to Genesis chapter 1, so what does this mean for us?

The land animals represent the things we start to do for the Kingdom.

  1. We received Jesus so His Light or Truth lives in us. He is teaching us.

  2. We acknowledge God, and learn to humble ourselves. He is our Heavenly Father.

  3. God begins removing things in us that we put there, and growing things He wants there.

  4. Our Father begins teaching us greater and deeper lessons, represented by the Sun / Son, and moon - the great lights of the heavens - or Great Lights of the Heavens. These teach us the Nature of God by revealing it through Jesus. And how to reflect His Light to this world.

  5. Through His teaching we begin to develop thoughts that flow from His Truth. The re-creation is centered on our Heart. Biblically, our heart is where our thoughts, desires, will, emotion, reside. As we’ve seen, this is also a description of our soul

  6. Now on Day 6, we begin to act

The land animals reflect our actions that flow from our thoughts.

There are three sources to our actions:

  1. Our Heavenly Father / Jesus / the Holy Spirit - God

  2. Ourselves

  3. The enemy

Suppose you want to stop an addiction.

By definition, this is difficult.

Just choosing the behavior to NOT do whatever it is, that’s hard.

We might follow a process that looks something like this:

  • Decide we don’t want that and choose something better (Day 1)

  • Identify with our condition, such as “recovering alcoholic” for instance (Day 2)

  • Throw out all of the cigarettes, junk food, etc. (Day 3)

  • Replace the bad stuff with healthy stuff, like veggies, etc. (Day 3)

  • Learn about the detriment of the addictive behavior (Day 4)

  • Develop thoughts that focus on healthy behavior, or positive reinforcements (Day 5)

  • THEN, step by step, begin walking - or ACTING - in a healthy anti-addiction behavior. (Day 6)

If we call the “addictive behavior” here “sin,” or “separation from God,” we can see God’s plat at work.

Day 6 Creation of Man

Genesis 1:24313 (MSG)

26-28 God spoke: “Let us make human beings in our image, make them

reflecting our nature

We watched the video about the Divine Council.

These heavenly beings reflect God’s nature as well.

Because it’s fascinating, in another lesson we will have to talk about angels and the heavenly beings.

On Earth, human kind was made to reflect the character or nature of God.

Genesis 1:24313 (MSG) CONT.

So they can be responsible for the fish in the sea,

the birds in the air, the cattle,

And, yes, Earth itself,

and every animal that moves on the face of Earth.

All creation and life comes from God.

But what we choose to do with what He gives us is CRUCIAL!

  • Fish represent our Earthly or material thoughts

  • Birds represent our spiritual or supernatural thoughts

  • The cattle and animals represent our actions

Responsibility flows from right thinking then acting.

Jesus says “to those who have ears let them hear!”

Listening simply implies learning, but hearing implies an incorporation into ourselves with a response.

Responsibility - Trust - Freedom

To be responsible, we have to be trusted.

That implies there is someone greater than us, and that is God.

He needs to trust us so that we can have freedom.

----------

A quick side note about responsibility and consequences:

How Lucifer was created

Ezekiel 28:12-15 (ASV)

12 Son of man, take up a lamentation over the king of Tyre, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

13 Thou wast in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, the topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was in thee; in the day that thou wast created they were prepared.

14 Thou wast the anointed cherub that covereth: and I set thee, so that thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till unrighteousness was found in thee.

God’s Reaction

Ezekiel 28:16-19 (ASV)

16 By the abundance of thy traffic they filled the midst of thee with violence, and

thou hast sinned: therefore have I cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God; and

I have destroyed thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

17 Thy heart was lifted up because of thy beauty;

thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I have cast thee to the ground; I have laid thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

18 By the multitude of thine iniquities, in the unrighteousness of thy traffic, thou hast profaned thy sanctuaries; therefore have

I brought forth a fire from the midst of thee; it hath devoured thee, and I have turned thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. 19 All they that know thee among the peoples shall be astonished at thee: thou art become a terror, and thou shalt nevermore have any being.

The Consequences

Revelation 20:10 (ASV)

10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where are also the beast and the false prophet; and they shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

What’s the point?

  • We are created in God’s image and called to reflect His nature.

  • The sins of mankind are identical to Lucifers - thinking against the character of creation - sin.

  • Deciding to be autonomous - have self law or governance - or be our own gods - does not absolve our sin

  • Punishment for all who have not received atonement from God will be judged.

  • In this dispensation the only way that is possible is through Christ Jesus.

Genesis 1:24313 (MSG) CONT.

So they can be responsible for the fish in the sea,

the birds in the air, the cattle,

And, yes, Earth itself,

and every animal that moves on the face of Earth.

Here our Heavenly Father says “so that they [us / we] CAN BE RESPONSIBLE!

The only way we can be is to be covered, which is through the Blood of Jesus.

That covers or atones for our sin.

Nonetheless, in John 14:15 Jesus says, “if you love me, you will keep my commandments.”

We ARE saved. Our names ARE in the Book of the Lamb!

We ARE still called to be obedient, because we love Him.

We demonstrate this love through thought AND action.

Responsibility with our Thoughts

Genesis 4:7

God tells Cain “sin is crouching at the door.”

Matthew 5:28

Jesus said in Matthew 5:28 “But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”

Responsibility in our Actions

Joshua 7:10-11 ESV The Sin of Achan

The Lord said to Joshua, “Get up! Why have you fallen on your face? 11 Israel has sinned; they have transgressed my covenant that I commanded them; they have taken some of the devoted things; they have stolen and lied and put them among their own belongings.

Matthew 5:24

Jesus said “leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.”

Genesis 1:24313 (MSG) CONT.

God created human beings;

he created them godlike,

Reflecting God’s nature.

He created them male and female.

God blessed them:

“Prosper! Reproduce! Fill Earth! Take charge!

Be responsible for fish in the sea and birds in the air,

for every living thing that moves on the face of Earth.”

When God says something twice.

We read what God’s play was above, here He says it again to mankind.

The meaning of our life is to reflect God’s nature, and to BE IN relationship with Him.

So, next time we will talk about what relationship with Him looks like.

This is especially relevant as we live in this fallen world - in it but not apart of it.

With God’s thoughts working within us:

  1. Our knowledge about how to act in our material world comes from our spiritual understanding

  2. These are connected, not separate

  3. Wisdom flows directly from our Lord Christ Jesus forming our spiritual thoughts

  4. Spiritual thoughts flow to material thoughts

  5. This all gives us a Godly understanding

  6. And we BEGIN to act from Love - the Love of Jesus living within us

Days of our Re-Creation

  1. We become a new person

  2. We learn to acknowledge God - Jehovah Jesus

  3. We learn to learn from His Word

  4. Then we must practice what the Word teaches

  5. Being led by the values of our Father. Evidence of His Character alive and at work within us,as demonstrated by “our character” or His Character IN us

  6. Grow our faith or letting His faith grows in us

  7. Resting in Peace with God
