THE VIDEO IS DARK THIS WEEK - IT GETS A BIT BETTER AFTER THE FIRST TWO MINUTES.
Understanding the multidimensional parts of reality helps us understand the reality within which we exist, who God is, who are enemies are, and most importantly, who we are. Not only does this give us perspective on how we can develop in our relationship with God, but also how we can defend ourselves from attacks of the enemy, and how we can mourn for and reach out to the lost who do not have Jesus as their Lord and personal Savior. This lesson quickly moves through a lot of topics at a high level. In future lessons we will be digging into the various pieces and parts to all of this.

If all things were made by Him and through Him, then… WHY would He create things that were evil? That were dangerous? How do we reconcile that?
We will get there…
Pre-incarnations in the Old (First) Testament were important
Wrestling with Jacob - Genesis 32:22-30
Jabbok - means evacuation; dissipation; wrestling
Jesus humbles himself SO THAT WE CAN wrestle with Him.
He doesn’t have to do this, but He DOES do this. Isn’t that remarkable?

Appearing to Joshua - Joshua 5:13-15 ESV
Jesus is not only our Savior, but leads the Lords Army.
When you are on Team Jesus, you aren’t just PART of the Kingdom, you are FIGHTING for the Kingdom.
Just as Jesus taught us to pray, “may Your Kingdom come and Your will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.”
Look what Joshua says.

Manifestation of the Son
How Jesus is NOT from the line of sin and death
Why this is important >> No human COULD - born of sin right out of the gate

How Jesus served as a covenant between man and God, acting as man and God
Jesus – Hypostatic Union
Hypostatic union (from the Greek: ὑπόστασις hypóstasis, "sediment, foundation, substance, subsistence") is a technical term in Christian theology employed in mainstream Christology to describe the union of Christ's humanity and divinity in one hypostasis, or individual existence.
What was mankind made from? Dirt or sediment.
A union to what? The SPIRITUAL part of God.
Mankind’s spirits died with Adam - can now be rejoined through Jesus
But Jesus was God becoming man to accomplish this task
He served FOR US on behalf of us AND God.

The Spirit
Loyal to the Father, serves the Son
Gives life to the spirits of believers by fusing Himself to their Spirits (direct flow of God’s life to us) - 1 Corinthians 3:16 (ESV)
1 Corinthians 3:16 (ESV)

On Earth, serves the ministry of Jesus by being our Paraclete
Charged with growing us up
Brings gifts that support our calling
Delivers peace from God and peace of God
Peace with God – reconciliation of sin
Peace from God – when we need direction
Peace of God – in situations beyond our capacity
When we minister, HE is flowing through us
Anatomy of the Believer
Our Soul
God new us before we were in our mother’s womb. Jeremiah 1:5 (ESV)
Jeremiah 1:5 (ESV)
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Jeremiah+1%3A5&version=ESV
Our Body
The Scripture refers to this as our flesh
The flesh is where sin enters our body
If we die to our flesh, then it should have no effect on us Romans 8:13 (ESV)
God knows we continue to struggle, and this is how the Spirit is helping us grow up
Romans 8:13 (ESV)

Our Spirit
Now alive and active in Him
This will be our glorified body the Scripture talks about

Anatomy of the Lost
Soul
Essentially the same, but no Holy Spirit available
“Hardening of Hearts” – it’s the soul they are talking about
However, God CAN absolutely talk to and influence the souls of man regardless
Body
Vulnerable to the attacks of the enemy
However, depending, they may not show any visible signs of attack
If the enemy has them, why attack them?
For instance, Yogis, Mystics, etc. might live “peaceful lives”
But this is peace as the absence of attack, NOT peace while under attack
Spirit
The spirit of the lost is dead
It is not connected to the Life Force of God through the Holy Spirit
Quick Summary of Why Lucifer is Against Us
Lucifer thought he would make himself “like God” – this pride caused him to fall
When he was cast out of Heaven a third of the angels fell with him
Lucifer was designed to reflect the glory of creation back to God
Literally, he has instruments as his parts
We are designed by God to:
Made in the image of god
We were given dominion over the Earth
We lost it through the first Adam, but it was reclaimed by the last Adam
When we receive Jesus we come into the Kingdom
We act as representatives of God
Through Jesus we are heirs to the Kingdom, and serve God as His Children
This makes us:
Part of God (like God) – what Lucifer desired
We were designed as instruments of praise (to give P&W to God) – better than Lucifer
Have relationship with God (through Jesus) – sanctioned as part of the plan of God
Look forward to an eternity UNDER God, but ruling with Him – His eternal plan for us
The Battle Against Us
Where the battle takes place:
In our minds – souls, which is in the “soul” level of the Spirit world
The agents of the enemy – powers, principalities, etc…
Ephesians 6:12 (ESV)
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ephesians+6%3A12&version=ESV
How the enemy causes us to defile ourselves
Entry through the flesh - This is a topic for another lesson
But how? Temptations in the mind lead to our actions in the flesh.
When we choose to sin, we give authority to the enemy
It probably isn’t Lucifer directly
These are the powers and principalities, etc… that we war with
Using our flesh to hurt others or our self, it hurts God the most
Why? Because sin divides us from God.
This is what the enemy wants – to hurt God
Another time we will talk about how the enemy develops a beachhead and a strongholds
Our Defense
Quickly - we will dig into these things in other lessons… But:
Salvation from Jesus
This is first and important, the only way is through Jesus
This can actually cause attacks to increase
The more we lean into Him, the more the enemy wants to divide us
Becoming sensitive to the Spirit
Calloused souls, and what to do about them
Learning to learn from Him – our best Teacher
Spending time with God
Reading Scripture, praise and worship, prayer, and prayer in tongues
These things grow us up in Him, and make us more resistant to attacks
ALSO, if we are doing these things, there is less time to sin!
Fellowship and Discipleship
Iron sharpens Iron
When we are weak, He is strong
If you did this for the least of these, you did this for me
Spiritual Armor
Scripture from Paul to the Ephesians
Ephesians 6:10-18 (ESV)
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ephesians+6%3A10-18&version=ESV
Sum Up
We reflect the image of God
Not just in how we look physically, but multidimensionally
The enemy is not happy about this, and seeks to divide us from God
The battle is in the soul (mind)
Sin enters us through the flesh when we give authority to the enemy
Our defense is spiritual through:
Salvation from Jesus
Developing sensitivity to the Spirit
Spending time with God
Fellowship and Discipleship
Spiritual Armor
This grows us up in God, which is the charter of the Holy Spirit with us
This develops us as Children of God
AND prepares us for our future eternity with God
